The fire column / fire basket consists of 2 mm sheet steel (steel) with 4 motif views (please look at the pictures).
The goal in the development and manufacture of our fire columns is the continuous and uniform burning of the wood with a medium flame formation and the avoidance of excessive sparking or the excessive emergence of the ember bed, also the use should, if it is not fired, decorative purposes to serve in the garden. For this reason, we do not block rust and thereby avoid the lower exit of the ember bed. The design creates a chimney effect when burning.
It was also important to us that you receive a finished pillar of fire, which you would not have to build together. For this reason, the fire pillars offered by us are assembled and provided with welding points. As we manufacture these on a plasma cutter, this of course also means reworking at the cutting points in the form of grinding, on the outer visible sides we grind with a fan disc in the horizontal direction, thereby simultaneously working on the contours of the motifs and creating an uneven sanding pattern. which results in an irregular formation of rust.
Since it is sheet metal, which is delivered deliberately without rust protection, it is possible that the buildup of oil may also cause dust or grinding residue on the surfaces, but these are burned with the oil after the first use with fire. It is also possible that during delivery may be seen rust formation.
When firing with wood arise, depending on the type of wood and amount, very high temperatures. Due to these high temperatures, it can occasionally, even with the sheet thicknesses used by us, come to slight deformation of the steel sheet and also tempering colors arise. This process is normal and does not affect the durability of the fire basket. In principle, you can set up the pillar anywhere, but please make sure that rust forms which can be washed off by the rain and possibly on the footprint (stones) precipitated and causes discoloration. It is best if you use a larger stone slab when using with fire, to avoid burns on the floor space.
For you, this means just unpack and coat with firewood.
